Chief Jikiri: We Should Dialogue with Them for What They Gain from Us

Chief Jikiri is a popular alias of the well-known Chief of Staff of the Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) or former Sulu-1st District Representative, Hon. Hji. Yusop H. Jikiri who strongly agreed with the mind-set of the DIC on building more educational partnership with different sectors in quest for improved quality education in Indanan.
Chief Jikiri said, "We should dialogue with them for what they gain from us."

District In-Charge Samoore S. Ladjahali met personally the former Congressman in his residence at Pasil, Indanan, Sulu yesterday escorted by Head Teacher - III of Pasil Elementary School and Annexes, Faisal A. Kadil and TIC of Poblacion ES and Annex, Alyasir A. Hussam. DIC's visit to Chief yesterday was a part of his daily networking activity in connection with school leadership in ISD.

"Just do good always for a better school," Chief suggested. "Here we are doing more efforts for the on-going maintenance of peace and order situation for the sake of harmony of the teachers and students in attending their classes," the Chief Added.

The DIC updated the Chief on the upcoming 1-Day CI Action Planning Workshop that will be conducted among 11 elementary school heads at the ISD Office, Km. 2, Kajatian, Indanan, Sulu, tomorrow, May 29, 2015 from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM. He also revealed that Training Workshop for CI Team of 11 elementary schools might be undertaken in the last week of July this year with invited resource person from Ateneo de Manila. It was here where the DIC expressed his concern over the insufficient partnership of Indanan Municipal School Board chaired by Chief's son, Hon. Saripuddin "Eddih" D. Jikiri, the Municipal Mayor.

"In other provinces of the Philippines, many business sectors donated items or materials needed in the conduct of Brigada Eskwela. Others offered school supplies and even cash in the expense of school activities," DIC further said.

The DIC concluded that the school teachers should learn more on creating connection and building partnership with different stakeholders and supporters for the good investment in children's education. He told Chief about the distinct opening of Amanah Bank passbook account of IMSB deposited with monthly fifteen thousand-peso appropriation from the Municipal Government of Indanan that made entire region participants surprised to note when the DIC inserted it in his Best Practices Teacher Development presentation during the conduct of LAC Planning Implementation Workshop at Astoria Plaza, Escriva Drive, Pasig City from May 20-22, 2015. Presentation asserted that IMSB lessened teacher's contribution especially in the conduct of district meet and provincial meet.

"I think passbook account for school board is only in Indanan throughout Sulu," DIC presented.
"It is only in your district," chorused the participants.

The DIC emphasized some other school priorities aside from Physical Education and School Sports (PESS) that also need financial resources for better implementation and achievement. If school board appropriation would be utilized for it, there would be shortage in the expenses for incoming conduct of district meet and Indanan Delegation to the Sulu Provincial Athletic Association Meet.

Thus, DIC's reiteration on seeking more education service providers/partners made Chief  heartily stressed, "We will plan how to have a face-to-face meeting with those groups like businessmen in Indanan Municipality and barangay officials."
