Indanan Municipal School Board Revitalization

During 15-day vacation in December, 2012, formalization of Indanan Municipal School Board began. It was made between both Indanan North and South school administrators with two representatives from the Municipal Government of Indanan and one officer of DILG in said municipality. In spite of two district heads that must be within the decision of the Schools Division Superintendent to select only one to act as co-chair of the mayor, delay on the final composition of the IMSB members existed until April, 2013. Glad tidings to both districts on the issue of IMSB echoed in both districts in April, 2013 when the Municipal Government of Indanan officially allocated the IMSB monthly appropriation of fifteen thousand pesos that shall be deposited in Islamic Amanah Bank, Jolo-Branch opened by Hji. Iriles N. Ladjabassal, Municipal Information Officer representing Municipal Mayor as signatory together with Samoore S. Ladjahali, Indanan South District In-Charge and Co-chair of the mayor in compliance with the decision of Sulu SDS, Dr. Tim U. Arbison.

IMSB has been observing monthly meeting since April, 2013 to the present. Last August, 2013, the members of the IMSB agreed on the following programs/projects where school board appropriations should be utilized according to its corresponding percentages:

1. Enhancing teachers' competencies - 50%

2. Conducive environment workplace - 10%

3. Enhancing community-relations - 10%

4. Athletic/sports activities & other programs - 30%

Last October, 2013, both Indanan North and South District already conducted their District Meet 2013 respectively. Afterwards, the IMSB conceived to convince both districts to work together as one contingent to represent Indanan Municipality in the forthcoming Sulu Provincial Athletic Association Meet 2013; that's why; the special meeting today, December 2, 2013 occurred at the Municipal Office, Pasil, Indanan, Sulu. The meeting was attended by the Municipal Information Officer, the Presiding Officer, Municipal Planning Officer, Municipal Committee Chairman on Education, Hon. Malli Kadil, District Heads, School Administrators, and district PESS Coordinators of both Indanan North and South District and Secondary School Principal of Indanan National High School.

The meeting ended with a financial assistance of 15 thousand pesos for both district expenses in the conduct of 1-day selection meet that will be held at Timbangan ES Playground on December 4, 2013. Similarly, the Municipal Government of Indanan/IMSB committed to shoulder the estimated P 120,000.00 pesos expenses of district delegation plus P 60,000.00 expenses of Indanan National High School to SPAAM 2013. Teacher's financial contribution; however; was just lessened from P 550.00 to P 280.00. Nationally-funded personnel of both districts were found 232 plus 25 personnel from secondary schools. IMSB will exert more efforts to have initiatives how they can produce the remaining needed amount, P 108,040.00 plus the individual t-shirt of every teacher/personnel of both districts and secondary schools. Expenses for SECPA of athletes will be produced  by the IMSB, too.

It was agreed in a meeting that the color of Indanan Delegation t-shirt to SPAAM 2013 shall be aqua blue.

This is first time to happen in the anal of Indanan Municipality since before.
